Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Hello! My name is Lynette Dornton, and I’m an audiologist here in Manatee County.

I founded this support group with the help of trusted friends and colleagues because I know firsthand how frustrating—and frankly, traumatic—hearing loss and tinnitus can be. When I couldn’t find a local tinnitus support group, I decided to create one. I knew I wasn’t alone in this, and neither are you.

There are so many people in our community quietly struggling with tinnitus. My goal is to offer a safe, welcoming space where we can come together for support, understanding, and education. This group isn’t about gaining patients—it’s about creating a place where people can be heard, connect with others who truly get it, and learn tools that can help make life with tinnitus a little easier.

Outside of audiology, I’m a big fan of plants, arts and crafts, and lending an ear (pun absolutely intended!) whenever I can. I hope this group brings you comfort, connection, and a reminder that you’re not alone.

Hi, I’m Shelly Hayes, and I support our tinnitus support group behind the scenes.  With a bachelor's degree in health services administration, I help organize meeting notes, write summaries, and keep communication flowing.

While I don’t personally have tinnitus, I’ve learned so much from listening to the brave and insightful stories shared here. I thank each and every one of you for giving me the honor of listening to your story.

Outside of the group, I’m a mom to three amazing boys and one forever angel baby girl. My spare time is spent at soccer games, throwing the football, coloring, building legos, and getting toddler story-time snuggles. When I get a quiet moment (which is rare!), I love watching Friends re-runs, snapping photos, and playing around with graphic design projects. I’m so thankful to be on this journey with all of you — and excited to keep learning and growing together.
